Volkswagen Funerals offer a completely unique service to provide an alternative funeral transport. We may also be able to assist you in finding suitable suppliers and Funeral Directors who can help you plan a fitting funeral from some amazing coffins to what you can do with your loved ones ashes.

VW Funerals  offer a 'show winning'   unique VW 'Type 26' Bay window coach built hearse, the only one of it's kind offered for hire. Simply known as 'the camper van hearse'  the 1972 hearse has  been sympathetically restored and painted white to match our fleet of stretched  VW Beetle limousines and Volkswagen buses.

Our VW bay hearse and limousines provide families with a totally different choice of  distinctive funeral vehicles to reflect the personality and interests of their loved one.

  


We offer our funeral hire fleet as an alternative for families who do not require the traditional black funeral vehicles, white symbolises peace and VW's symbolise the peace era. However these cars can still be a part of a traditional funeral.

Our fleet of Volkswagens are the perfect choice for life celebrations, Eco, Green Funerals and Woodland and Natural burials along with folk who had a great sense of adventure and a love of the outdoors, who perhaps once holidayed in a Volkswagen camper or owned a Beetle or always wanted to own or go travelling in one.

There is also a huge following of this marque of vehicle and as VW enthusiasts ourselves we know the community have been crying out for a suitable vehicle to cater for our sadly departed 'Vee Dubbers'. 

Our fleet is often called in to provide a more fitting tribute for when the sad death of a young person has occurred. The friendly look of the VW and white paintwork can help to brighten a very sad difficult day and mark a memorable occasion.

Our Volkswagen Hearse has a black flag on the roof and we are happy to apply a single black ribbon to the front of the vehicles as a sign of respect and dignity, this also helps other road users to see that there is a  funeral in procession.

Of course not everybody wants a sombre or traditional affair, we can apply coloured ribbon to the fleet for no black tie / life celebration funerals. We offer families the chance to personalise the transport and final journey. We will carry artifacts that represent interests, sport, surfing, cycling, skiing, gardening, musical instruments etc  the hearse has even been decorated with pictures drawn by local school children after the loss of their friend and families have travelled to the crematorum with football anthems and favourite music at full volume blasting from the limousine, perhaps this gives family and friends a chance to do things that might not be seen as 'appropriate' during the actual funeral service?   Contact us for details.

We will work in partnership with your Funeral Director  and liase with them,  or  you can give us your transport requirements directly  and we will contact the Funeral Director.

Volkswagen Funerals fleet includes our VW Bay window (camper van style) hearse, two matching classic stretched Beetle limousines which are modern Mexican Cars for reliability, and this countries only New Beetle Limousine.

To keep to the camper /bus theme we have a 1963 VW 21 window Samba split screen bus and new for 2009 our matching 1969 bay window 'camper van' style Bus , which is perfect to follow the Bay Hearse.

Our Volkswagen passenger buses seat up to 6 passengers.

All cars are in matching  white coach work.

Our cars are available to hire with or without the VW hearse.

While funerals are always very sad there is no reason why they should all be the same, we worked along with Eureka Jazz , family and friends had an amazing farewell and released red and white balloons after the ceremony. A bright red colourful coffin was also used for this funeral.

Brians fairwell incorporated his love of radio controlled aircraft, the Spitfire on the roof is one he built and his beautiful coffin had spitfires pictured on it to match from Colourful Coffins, Devalls funeral directors in Nuneaton were as always fantastic and Charlotte Graham the Civil Funeral Celebrant delivered a wonderful service

Vehicles are subject to availability and your location. We are Midlands based near  M42 junction 10 .You may wish to choose a totally different vehicle all together from our selection of unique wedding hire vehicles. see Beetle Drive UK You may even wish to have Herbie head the procession perhaps if the sad loss is of a young person, it's up to you.

While many families continue to prefer traditional funerals, an increasing number are now changing traditions in many ways. We believe that the purpose of a funeral is ultimately to bring peace and comfort to the family and friends, and whatever rituals are best for them are the ones that should be used.

See the Hearse and the Samba at Van Fest 2008  Our Hearse won 'Best in show' at Van Fest 2008! and also won a trophy at Van Fest 2009.  At the recent National Funeral Exhibition 09 many were asking if this hearse was one of the New VW's buses still being made in Brazil, this is because even though it is from 1972 it does actually look brand new.  

Remember you don't have to use the Funeral Directors cars, many Funeral companies are very happy to arrange hire of the transport of your choice whether it's a Volkswagen, Landrover, Motorcycle, Lorry or a Horse Drawn Hearse. Your loved one was an individual so do something unique! Their funeral will certainly be remembered as the one that stood out from the crowd.
